MILES ~ 45
Dave & Charlene Y-man hosted a New Years Day ride at the Dead Cow wash outside Grand View.
Charlene made a couple of pots of Taco Soup plus other eats.
IT WAS 15F WHEN I ARRIVED AND PROBABLY WARMED UP TO 22-25F IN THE AFTERNOON.
AS WE GOT READY TO GO, BUTCH COULDN'T CRANK HIS BIKE. CLOSER INSPECTION SHOWED HIS COOLANT FROZEN ! HE DECIDED TO FIRE UP A COUPLE OF HEATERS IN TRAILER TO THAW OUT THE BIKE.
THE REST OF US DECIDED TO TAKE A SHORT WARM UP RIDE AND LOOP BACK TO SEE WHAT THE DAMAGE WAS.
TOM’S BIKE WAS SPEWING SMOKE AFTER HE TOOK A SPILL. HE DID A FEW CHECKS DIDN’T FIND ANYTHING. IT CLEANED UP IN A FEW MILES.
BY 2:30 WE DECIDED TO HEAD BACK. CHECK ON BUTCH’S BIKE AND EAT.
BUTCH AND CHARLENE WERE GONE, SO HIS BIKE MUST BE OK. THEY ROLLED IN ABOUT 10 MINUTES.
WE HAD A GOOD TIME WITH THE FOOD AND FIRE.
AFTER FELLING UP ON TACO SOUP, CHIPS, SALSA – GORDON , TOM,GREG & I DECIDED TO GET A QUICK 10 MILES WHILE WE STILL HAD SOME DAY LIGHT.
GORDO WAS THE UNDOCUMENTED TRAIL BOSS.
A COUPLE OF MILES FROM THE TRUCK, WHILE FOLLOWING SOME COW TRAILS I HAD MY 1ST GET OFF FOR 2011 !
