JACKS CREEK–2/5/2011

COULDN’T FIND A FEZ IN TOWN, SO THE RIDE LOST IT’S THEME.

MAP

TOPO

TRAIL BOSS – JOHN

RIDERS- SCOTT, KEITH , DAVID

LOOP – 53 MILES

(my) AVG SPEED – 18 MPH

I TRIED COMBINING ROUTES FROM PREVIOUS RIDES. I DID OK, ONLY GOT CONFUSED A COUPLE OF TIMES.

LOTS OF TWO TRACKS, THE HIGH FLATS GET CONFUSING. HAD WAYPOINTS FROM PREVIOUS RIDES, BUT I NEED MY READING GLASSES TO SEE THE GPS. THERE IS PROBABLY A COUPLE MORE SINGLE TRACKS /WASHES TO BUILD INTO THE ROUTE.

SINGLE TRACK ACROSS THE HIGHWAY HAS BEEN OBLITERATED BY RE-SEEDING WORK.

WITHIN A MILE OF THE TRUCK I DROP THE BIKE IN A SANDWASH. DAMN TUMBLE WEEDS SPOOKED ME !

NICE SINGLE TRACK RUN ACROSS FLATS , ASH DEPOSIT.

STOPPED FOR LUNCH IN THE BOTTOM OF CANYON TO GET OUT OF THE WIND.

TECHNICAL SPOT AT BOTTOM OF CREEK CROSSING. JUST NEEDS A ROCK & COUPLE OF BUSHES REMOVED AT  THE WATERS EDGE.

TOOK MORE THAN 2 TRIES BUT I’M NOT TELLING. I THINK THE SUN FINALLY MOVED OUT OF THE WAY.
