RODE THE TVTMA FUND RAISER.
EVEN THOUGH IT WAS MURPHY IT WAS A FUN COURSE. RAINED ON FRIDAY , COOL TEMPS AND BREEZES KEPT THE DUST DOWN ON SATURDAY. RAN A LITTLE CANYON ON THE BONUS LOOP I’VE NEVER BEEN ON BEFORE.
AT HOME I HAD DRESSED IN MY WARMER WEATHER GEAR. AT RABBIT CREEK I HAD TO SWITCH TO MY LNG RIDING SKINS & GORTEX JERSEY.
LOOP – 72 MILES ( MISSED A COUPLE OF TURNS & GOT 7 EXTRA MILES ). AVG 19 MPH. WHICH WAS OK FOR ME, BUT STILL NOT RACE PACE. THE ONE TIME I TRIED RIDING “FAST” MY FRONT TIRE FLIPPED UP A ROCK , KNOCKED THE SHIFT LEVER BACK AND CAUGHT THE INSIDE OF MY KNEE. had TO STOP AND KNOCK THE LEVER BACK OUT.
I DID CATCH AND PASS SOME CHICKS IN A ROCKY WASH, BUT THEY PASSED ME IN THE FAST SAND & ATV TRAILS.
RODE WITH A FELLOW PARKED NEXT TO ME , GREG SIGMAN. HE WAITED AT THE TURNS FOR ME ! NEED TO TALK HIM INTO SOME MOUNTAIN RIDES.
NO STOPS FOR PHOTOS. PACKED MY BEER AND LUNCH THE WHOLE LOOP, BUT DIDN’T EAT UNTIL BACK AT THE TRUCK.
