RIDERS – DAVID , JOHN
LOOP ~ 45 MILES
WE PARKED AT THE MURPHY WASH AND MADE OUR WAY TO SINKER CREEK. THE BOTTOM OF THE WASHES HAD A SPOTS OF SLOPPY MUD, BUT WHEN WE GOT TO THE GATE BY THE SLOT IT WAS DRY.
THE CROSSING AT THE BOTTOM WASN’T THAT BAD SO WE TRIED OUR LOOP THRU THE CANYON.
WE GOT TO THE MAIN FORK AND DECIDED IT WAS MORE WATER THAN WE WANTED TO TAKE ON. IT WOULD BE A COLD RIDE BACK WITH BOOTS FULL OF WATER.
WE DOUBLED BACK AND STOPPED FOR LUNCH AT THE BASE OF THE CLIFFS.
LUNCH : HAM & CHEESE SANDWICH, FRITOS, BEER
WIND WAS WHISTLING THRU CANYON, IT WAS COLD.
LOOKS LIKE GAS POCKETS IN THE LAVA FLOW. ( NO EPA BACK THEN).
WE DECIDED TO BACK TRACK UP THE SLOT TO AVOID A COUPLE OF WATER CROSSINGS.
LOTS OF DEER ON THE WAY OUT.
WE ENDED UP DOUBLING BACK BECAUSE WE WANTED TO AVOID MUCK AND THE TRAIL IS BETTER.
