WARM SPRINGS 9 6 09

MAP VERT

David and I went back to Warm Springs to ride some new trails we attempted last week.

(I found my water proof gloves in my pack just as we headed out.)

Loop ~ 55 miles   Avg speed 15 MPH

Lots of nice single track, not technical ,but you could really scoot along. We saw a couple of packs of mt bikers , horses but no dirt bikes which was surprising.

WARFIELD SOUTH

Warfield looking south after climbing from Warm Springs. Seemed easier than last year.

Still a rocky climb and you had to be careful to stay out of the ruts.

WARFIELD NORTH

Looking north down Warfield drainage.

WARFEILD BOTTOM

Bottom of Warfield. Not so gnarly but it would be a tougher ride in the opposite

direction to get back on the ridge.

Mountain Bikers at Red Warrior & Lodgepole intersection. They were friendly although some of the women looked like they belong to Barry’s goon squad. The guy’s in the lead weren’t  even puffing or sweating.

We stopped at the Wrangler in Fairfield for burgers & shakes.

Barry – “ Children what are the key points of my BACK TO SCHOOL SPEECH  speech? “

                 A) Have you ever seen a grown man naked ?

                 B) What is green on the outside & red on the inside ?

                         1) A CZAR (special adviser to President Obama)

                          2) An environmentalist

                          3) A watermelon

4 ) all of the above

                 C) I have  THE GIFT ?

David and I decided it’s worth an overnight trip.  You could ride all the trails in a couple of days. I would like to spend a couple of nights along Warm Springs then head up to Stanley.
