Sage Grouse Roundup–Jacks Creek 4/2/2017

The BLM wants to close most these trails under the current TMP proposal
to “protect Sage Grouse habitat” . They didn’t even inventory the trails
in spite of users and IPR providing GPX tracks multiple times over the years.

I never have seen Sage Grouse out here but I’m sure the BLM thinks
that supports the closure .

Riders- Chad, Clarence

Loop ~ 56 miles ( still had a half tank left !)

Started out trying to ride JimBob's loop  to Horse Hill but got confused so
doubled back to the truck . It would have been an 80 mile day if we had
added the leg.

Hole in the Rock -

The BLM installed a useless but expensive fence in front of the petroglyphs.

Government turns good people into F-Tards .

  1. Another beautiful Owyhee day. I appreciate you showing trails threatened with closure. Coincidentally, my little daughter and I camped last weekend along Big Jacks off one of those cherry stem roads that gets you near the canyon. I wanted to go see Hole in the Rock but travel is too damn slow in a Jeep (we went in from the opposite side).

That country out there is so little-used. Hard to imagine restrictions are really needed.
